Meet Our Founders
Jose R. Mellado, D.M.D, M.S, FPFA, FACD, FICD
Jose R. Mellado is a distinguished periodontist with significant contributions to dental health. Earning a D.M.D. from the University of Puerto Rico and furthering his expertise with a Certificate in Periodontics, and an M.S. in Oral Biology from Temple University, Dr. Mellado is well-recognized locally and nationally within the dental community. His commitment to the field is reflected in his longstanding private periodontal practice since 1993, and his academic role as a Clinical Associate Professor at Temple University. Dr. Mellado had held leadership positions in numerous dental societies, including former Chairman of the American Board of Periodontology, former President of the South Florida District Dental Association, and former Director of the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. He was inducted at the American College of Dentistry, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. His active engagement in dental research, education, and multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals showcases his dedication to advancing periodontal care. Furthermore, Dr. Mellado is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery, past Chair and current member of the Florida Board of Dentistry, highlighting his influential role in shaping dental standards and practices.
Ania Cabrerizo, D.M.D
Dr. Ania Cabrerizo graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2003. Afterwards, she completed her residency program in pediatric dentistry at Nova Southeastern University and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in 2005. Dr.Cabrerizo is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and has been practicing her specialty for 18 years. She holds hospital privileges in several prestigious children’s hospitals including, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Holtz Children’s Hospital. Dr.Cabrerizo is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr.Cabrerizo is originally from Cuba and married to Dr. Jose Mellado. Together, they have 3 children and happily reside in Miami. Her bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish allows her to serve the community in South Florida with the upmost commitment to providing exceptional care to children and advancing pediatric dental care.
